Lofty Newsroom
Designing hard-working contemporary offices for The Logic, a digital news platform in Toronto founded by David Skok, meant carving up the wide-open revamped industrial space into flexible workstations and meeting spaces that would appeal to staff and visitors alike. To contrast the heritage building’s rugged shop floors and massive exposed beams, Romina outfitted the office with modern classics plus vintage finds and art. The reception area is small but welcoming, with a large photo of the old Annex Skating Club (found at the City Archives nearby) hanging by the door. The boardroom features a custom table and high-tech AV system. A smaller meeting area has a Saarinen table surrounded by vintage chairs, and a bar counter and stools along one wall offer overflow seating. Throughout the spaces, layered lighting and plants inject life.
