Swiss Chalet

Romina took a cozy contemporary approach to the interiors for this charming 700-square-foot chalet perched high in the Swiss Alps near Verbier. Inspired by traditional cabins in the area, her client built the home himself, incorporating modern amenities — notably, more windows than is typical to flood rooms with light and afford spectacular views. Romina’s complementary interiors are effortlessly liveable, layered in rich woods and rugged materials like leather, stone, and hide. Splashes of Swiss red, ski-themed motifs, and playful lighting drive home the wintry ethos. Upstairs, bedrooms are outfitted in luxe linens and plump duvets, perfect for nestling in on long winter nights. For Christmastime, Romina introduced natural accents — fragrant evergreen clippings and clusters of pinecones — plus a few extra hints of red for good measure.
